Community Risk Reduction Campaign

The Bajan Fire Fighters' Network (Registered Charity No.1133) is committed to assisting the Barbados Fire Service with the preservation of Life and Property. Our Community Risk Reduction Campaign is about managing those associated risks within our communities. This is undertaken by assessing and prioritizing risks that have been identified.

Apart from our on-going efforts to distribute smoke detectors to the elderly and disabled community, we are also actively engaged in the provision of fire safety and prevention literature and conducting lectures and discussions with members of the public.

We have identified some vulnerable and high-risk communities and are working to develop solutions and support systems to help mitigate those risks. Our objective is to continually work with community groups or organisations to implement the most efficient and effective means to reduce or eliminate those identified risks within our communities.

This New Year brings with it the promise of a brighter tomorrow and we are committed to reducing the potential loss of life and destruction of property with your help. We encourage you to join us as we seek to embark on this ambitious journey.

  • Our Community Risk Reduction Campaign will be conducted on several fronts, namely;

  • Increased public education and awareness

  • Community familiarisation visits

  • Community emergency preparedness training

  • Production of Public Safety Announcements using audio and visual media

  • And continual use of social media as a platform to disseminate timely info.
